Girl Power!

Friday, September 3, 2021

Sending September Smiles your way!  I've been using lots of my girly stamps, and I started a new job, so Girl Power it is!

I see many starting Fall and Christmas creations already, but when you live in the desert and it's still hotter than heck, I'm just not there yet.  We've got a holiday happening this month too, and the start of holidays for every month now until the end of the year.  That sounds so crazy to me, but I am truly looking forward to all of it, and I hope you are too!

Here we go...

So in July I posted a card I made with this same layout, and had said at the time that I had made a handful of them, and so this is another.  There just isn't enough focus on telling each other, and especially the young women coming up in the business world today, how amazing they are.  We can all use a little boost and I love giving cards like this and I hope you do too.  The stamp set is from Unity Stamps, she's one of the Angie Girls and is called Poppy Girl.  I did add a face to her, that doesn't come with the set.
Inside message:
Doing what you like is Freedom
Liking what you do is happiness

I just started a new job, and in my head I was hoping I looked like this on my first day...haha, but holy cow I was a bundle of nerves.  It's been 10 years, yes a decade, since I even interviewed anywhere else, and didn't think I would, but life leads you in different directions sometimes.  I just finished my first week, and guess what....you can teach an old dog new tricks and I'm lovin' it!

This is a stamp from Hampton Art, and is one of those Peachy Cheap deals where I got I think 6 sets of stamps for a smokin' deal.  Well, the quality is not amazing, but I do think this gal certainly is.
 Inside message:
Brave & Beautiful

Well it just wouldn't be right if I had a Girl Power theme without throwing in a glass of wine, right?!  This is another Unity Stamps/Angie Girl and it is called Miranda Girl, and again I added a face to her that is not included.  I found this pad of paper at Joann's and had to have it.  I don't buy a lot of 12 x 12 paper pads, but this one had me and it's by Park Lane and it's called Wonder Seeker.
  Inside message:
 ...and wine

Cheers to September and I hope for all kinds of positive things for you and yours. Stay safe, take care, and whatever you create, as always, is welcome here :)

Fruit Loops ~

Sunday, August 1, 2021

Hello and Happy August!  The theme I chose for this month is about FRUIT, and I am drawn to any type of fruit paper or stamp for that matter, and have a separate container just for them.  I hope I'm not the only one, but it's hard for me to even use some of the papers I have they are just so cute, and I know you can relate to that.  I guess that's part of being a part of this crazy craft we do!  I am seeing a lot of lemons lately, which is so perfect right now for Summer :)

This stamp came to me in a grab bag from Unity Stamps, which can be so fun. They don't have them all the time, but when they do they go fast.  It's like a present to yourself, and we all deserve that sometimes.  It's not a single stamp, but was part of one of the monthly kits and that's really what the grab bags are about, mostly.   At first when I saw it, I called them "fancy lemons" haha, wasn't sure it was my style and also wasn't sure I'd use it, but once I colored it, I was really happy with them. When life gives you lemons...
Inside message - You bring out the Zest in me.

I love watermelon in the Summer and pretty drinks, so this digital image from Graciellie Designs called Happiness had me at gorgeous!  Be sure to check out all of her art, because she's amazing.  If digitals aren't your thing, she does sell rubber stamps at Unity too.  The heart has lots of white glitter on it, so don't think I just forgot to color it :)
Inside message...Sending Smiles and Happy Vibes.

Cute cherries, and such an adorable little stamp.  The cherries on this one are also covered in glitter, which I seem to be using more and more of lately, and not just the marker kind, but the real glitter, because I want to see the sparkle!
Inside message...Nobody Sweeter (also the name of this set).

Well, I hope your August is fabulous and will be full of some fun things and maybe even some new and happy surprises.  Stay cool, stay safe, and I can't wait to see your fruity and fun creations.  Whatever you have is, as always, welcome here :)

~ Animal Prints ~

Saturday, July 3, 2021

Hiiii!!  How's it going?  It's July and as you can imagine hot, hot, hot here where I live in Phoenix.  I'm happy to have a 3 day weekend for the 4th of July holiday here in the US, and I'm going to enjoy every minute of it.  I hope you do too, if you celebrate it that is.  To me it certainly means Summer is here!

The theme this month is Animal Prints.  Lately I haven't even planned for what the next challenge would be, I just look at what I've created and on my desk during the last several weeks, and it just seems to be working out for me, which isn't a bad thing.  Not sure why animals are in my thought process, but there are so many different prints to choose from, and I know you will use your creative imagination and wow me and inspire me, as you always do :)

This girl is ready for some fun, don't-cha think? I dug out some scraps of leopard print, and when I say scraps I mean the tiniest of scraps is truly all I had.  She's from Rubbernecker Stamps and her name is Violet and I want her outfit.  Not sure it would be "age appropriate" for me, but who cares? The sentiment is also from Rubbernecker.  Now who is coming over with this list of things to carry out that "plan"?....Inside message....meow

This cute little kitty, kitty makes me smile, and the sentiment can be oh so true, except for me it's my puppy.  It's he and I against the world, just as it should be. The little paw footprints to me is an animal print too, and a special one. I couldn't find this on the website, but it is a stamp set from Close to My Heart,  called Kitty Cuddles.  Inside message...love has four paws.
I loved this layout and made a handful of cards using it. I had to dust off the old Cricut in the process, and I certainly put it to work.  This looked like a cow animal print to me, or maybe a horse?  Anyway, I thought it worked together with the image.  The stamp set is from Unity Stamps and it's called Dallas Girl.  The sentiment on the outside, as well as an awesome one that's on the inside, makes this set a true fave.  Inside message...Struggles are required in order to survive in life because in order to stand up, you have to know what falling down is like....
Don't I know it sista!!!!!

Well that's all I have for you this month.  As always, I hope it's fabulous for you, and that you and yours stay safe and are happy.  I can't wait to see your animal prints, no matter what they are, and I hope you'll show me some fun things from your stash, old or new, it's always welcome here :)

You've Got a Friend ~

Thursday, June 3, 2021

Hey there!  Here we are at June already and it is hot and steamy here in Phoenix, I tell ya.  It went from beautiful, to not at all, in a heartbeat.  I do hope it's fabulous wherever you are, and that you'll invite me :)

The theme this month is all about FRIENDS, and truly where in the world would we be without them?  The title, is from the Golden Girls of course, and if you haven't watched at least 5, make that 10, in your lifetime, well I'm not sure I understand you at all, haha!  That show cracked me up in so many ways, and the one with Burt Reynolds...OMG.  Think about all of the actors and actresses who were on there, and some who weren't even anybody at the time.  Those women knew what real friendship was, and I hope you have some of the most fun, crazy, and special friends in your life that you can relate to as well.

I find it easy to make cards for friends, I'm just terrible at mailing them, (sad face), but when I get on a roll look out!  I have a stack right now just waiting for some postage.  So, if you can put the word "friend" somewhere on your creation this month, it would make me happy, and I can kind of pretend you're sending it to me....see how that works?

Isn't she adorbs?  And the little kitten...oh my!  Close to My Heart has 4 of these pretty girls that they are called "Besties" with their special little friends, and so yes I have them all!  Did you even doubt that for one second?  You can even get the stamp and the die cut together for an awesome deal.  This one is called Zoey, but there's also Olivia, Kelsie, and Lucy...I love the name Lucy :)

This stamp set is so cool and so fun, and the minute I saw how it all worked in a video, I had to have it.  It's called Sunshine and Rainbows and it's a rainbow builder from Unity Stamps, and then there's the fact that there's no coloring involved too if you're not feeling it that day, and of course we all have those days, and also those moments and events when you need a card like NOW!  That was a really long sentence, but you know what I mean.

So now we have a stamp that I just think is so pretty and there's hardly any coloring involved in it really, and it's called Type Write and it is also from Unity Stamps that I am obsessed with, as you probably already know. The little bird makes me happy, and I just used a double sided scrap I had, and added some gems.  I also have, and continue to need every typewriter stamp I see.  I'm not sure why, but I do remember my typing teacher in high school who was kinda cool, but when we had to learn on a manual typewriter first before we could move on to electric, I didn't think she was at that moment.  I'm showing my age, and if you're really young you're probably ROTFL right now :)

I hope your month is amazing and full of some fun, don't work too hard like me, and is spent with some special friends too. If you join my challenge you'll be all ready for them when you seen them!

Succulents + Cacti ~

Saturday, May 1, 2021

 Hello and Happy May!!

It's May and Spring and I hope the weather is turning beautiful for those of you who've gone through an icky winter.  Here in Phoenix it's heating up, so Summer is not my friend and today, for instance, it's going to be 99...but not 100 yet, so that's something!  No worries, because when I win the lottery, I can finally become a snowbird and actually spend the summers "home" in Wisconsin (fingers and toes crossed really, really tight) :)

So on to the theme this month.  Is it just me or are succulents everywhere and truly a designer "thing" lately?  Didn't we just always use to call them cactus or cacti?  Is cacti just one, and cactus more than one? I'm too lazy to look it up.  Anyway, I live in the desert, so ya I see ALOT of them and maybe that's it.  I just bought a new background stamp with a bunch of tiny little ones that I adored, and so this months theme was born...ta-da!  Funny how it all comes together sometimes.

Whatever kind of succulents, cactus, cacti or whatever you choose to call them that you can find in your stash, even if it's just papers, dig them out and let me see whatcha got!  They are kinda fun to color, but my watercolor palette
is full of some real funky green water going on right now I will say!

So this is the background stamp that started it all, and she's a beauty. Yes, it's a full background, but I just chose to use part of it because as you'll see in my next creation, I used one of those cute little guys that were cut off of the bottom of this one, so no worries that any of them were harmed in the making of this card. Love this sentiment that comes with it, because it's the little things that mean so much after all of course.

Stamp Set: Plant Kindness

Here's another one of them cuties that I've put on the inside.

Ok, so this is the other card I was talking about earlier, and one of the sweetest of them I think with that tiny little heart on the planter.  Did you see the hearts on the other ones too?  Sorry, I get a little carried away sometimes.  I was inspired to use this card layout from Julee Tilman over at Poetic Artistry.  You may remember her if you've been doing this as long as I have with her Mojo Monday sketches, which are always awesome, and this is another great one.  This sentiment is another from the same set, and well I love the snarky-ness of it I guess because that's just me (shrugging shoulders).....and then here's the inside.
Alrighty then, let's end with a big 'ol pot of these babies, but these are more elegant and designer focused I suppose you could say.  Yes, it's another Unity Stamp, and yes I'm obsessed with them.  But come on, is this one not gorgeous or what?  There are a handful of those bitty sentiments that come with it too.

That's a wrap for me, and now I'm hungry so a wrap does sound good right now, but I think a sub is in my very near future.  Sorry I'm a little later than usual, it's noon-time-ish here in my neck of the woods, but as I told you last month, work is kicking my behind so I slept in a little bit today.  Later I'm going to a Kentucky Derby party, but there will be no mint juleps for me because ew...just ew.  My month has a few fun things happening along the way, and some medical "testing" too, so keep sending those good vibes my way because they're working :)

I hope your month is awesome, and full of some wonderful surprises too, so as always, please take care and stay extra safe out there. Stay positive and I'll remind myself to do the same!

April Showers Bring May Flowers ~

Thursday, April 1, 2021

Hi!!!!  Happy April!!

If you've been hanging out around me and my blog for awhile, you know this is one of my favorites and (I think) I've used it almost every year. I mean who doesn't like to make cards with flowers on them?  I feel like flowers are on my cards almost always, I just can't get enough of them.  I didn't make any cards with with showers this year, but if I have some time, maybe I'll pop in with one at some point this month.  Don't hold me to that because work is taking up all of my play time lately, and I don't like it in the least!

I hope you're all keeping busy and crafting your sweet little hearts out during what continues to be a little bit of a crazy time in all of our lives, but we're getting through it and the worst is definitely behind us.

  We got this!!

These were so much fun to make!  I drive a red VW Bug, for those that don't know that, and this stamp set I just had to have, obviously, am I right?  Thought I'd share the inside too, just because I figured you needed to see it.  The big, big flowers were fun to color and really add to the funky feel.  This company has some super cute stamps, and a winter version of the bug too, if you or someone you love drives one.
psssstt....it's on sale right now for $9!!!

More, big big flowers!! This little cutie just had to have glittery wings of course, and not just any glitter, but the big glitter so you can actually see that darn glitter!  Some quick and easy coloring and this one is ready to send off to someone you've been missing hanging out with!  She's from StampingBella, who we all love of course, but I couldn't find her on the website.  I'm sure you'll find something else you need there, like I always do.  The inside message is "Life is Better with Friends"...amen to that sisters!

Another StampingBella, but this one I actually found on the website!  These two simply melt my heart completely into a puddle on the floor, they are just that adorable, and I made a handful of them in various colors, because I just couldn't stop... I left the inside blank to write a special message.

I do hope your April brings you a few showers for those beautiful May flowers that are coming your way, especially if you're living somewhere that it doesn't seem like Spring will ever get there.  Here in Phoenix it's in the 90's already, ugh.

Take care and stay extra safe out there my beauties :)

Rainbows & Unicorns ~

Sunday, February 28, 2021

It's March!!

How can it be March already?  Anyhoo, I'm sure you've heard the expression, and I've used it myself quite a bit lately when someone asks you how you are..."well it's not all rainbows and unicorns"... but I really do like rainbows and unicorns, really I do, and so it was a light bulb moment and here we are with it being a blog challenge!

This month is also St Patrick's Day, celebrated by some who like whiskey and green beer (who, me?) but when you think of leprechauns and Lucky Charms and a pot of gold I wish I had, there can be rainbows involved with them as well.

Unicorns and the magic of them, there's just something about them and I didn't realize how many unicorn stamps and digital stamps I had, so it was hard for me to decide which to use and tell myself to just stop already with what I had.  I am holding one of them over 'til next month though, so you'll just have to wait for it :)

Isn't she a beauty?  I just love her, and it was easy and fun to color.  So many possibilities with this one.  This is a digital from Angie Blom, who is one mega talented gal I tell ya.  I have many, many, many, ok alot if you must know (stop judging), of her rubber stamps she's designed for Unity Stamps/Angie Girls.
This one you can find here:  Unicorn Love
Inside Message: Love ya
When I was checking out Angie's digitals, I found this one that cracked me up, and when I saw the rainbow on her t-shirt, well duh I just had to get it for this challenge!  Did you think for just one minute maybe that she was just holding up one finger, haha, I did, which I think could be fun too in my twisted little mind.
Inside Message: Put Your Troubles Into Bubbles
Rosie and Bernie have a Tea Party, and she is such a little sweetie with her Unicorn friend and I wish I could be with them.  Even though I'm not a hot tea drinker, I'd enjoy spending time with these two.  When you live in Arizona, iced tea is the drink of choice, unless I'm having chinese food.  I always want hot tea when I'm at a chinese restaurant.  Is that weird?

Well that's it for this month, my beauties.  I thought I'd leave you with an Irish quote, and when I did a Google search, it gave me a bunch that are leaving me thinking what the heck?

These are too good not to share:

1. You've got to do your own growing, no matter how tall your father was.

2. May the roof above you never fall in and those gathered beneath it never fall out.

3. Every man is sociable until a cow invades his garden.

And then there's this last one...
4. It's easy to halve a potato where there's love.

So now I really do need some whiskey ;)

Wishing you a month full of Rainbows & Unicorns,

Jeannie T.

I {Heart} You ~

Monday, February 1, 2021

 Happy February!

This month the celebration of Valentine's Day happens, so there's hearts galore everywhere.  I love love to be honest, but I understand it can be a bit much for some.  My plan:  Eat pizza, watch Sleepless in Seattle, cry, hug my dog, and go to bed.  Still I have great respect (and much envy) for those who will be celebrating in a much grander way, and I sure hope you do.

There are many who say it's a fake/Hallmark holiday, and love should be shown and celebrated everyday to the one you love; blah, blah, blah.  You know, I couldn't agree more in many ways to that statement, but for the love of cupid, could we gals get a day where we just get to be loved and adored just a little bit more?

Soooo.....hearts, hearts, any kind of hearts, be them big, small, and about anything at all (that rhymes and I wasn't even trying).  Let's see them and show them and add them to everything we do this month!  Don't get me wrong, if you're making Valentine's for the loves in your life, I want to see them ALL!!!

We all know that song by Jackie DeShannon, What the World Needs Now:

What the world needs now is love, sweet love,
It's the only thing that there's just too little of.
What the world needs now is love, sweet love,
No not just for some, but for everyone.

Stamp set is from Unity Stamps/Rustic Wishes, and then the background is called Guernsey Gingham and I love how weathered it looks.
Inside Message: Sending Hugs

Stamp set from Close to My Heart/With All My Love, and I believe it was the Stamp of the Month maybe in November because I can't seem to locate it on the website anymore.  Awesome set and fun to color!  The papers are called Bloom with Grace.
Inside Message: Missing You!

Stamp Set from Unity Stamps/Kimmie Girl and I couldn't find the face stamp for this one, but it is also from Unity.  The itty bitty coffee=heart stamp is from Chic Tags/Planner Addict/Coffee Lover that I had gotten from Peachy Cheap awhile back.  Inside Message: Nothing goes better with coffee than a good friend.

***Don't forget to go to the grocery store on February 15th for half off chocolate and $5 roses for yourself, I'll be there, and we deserve it ;)

LOTS of Love, Hearts, and Hugs to you my beauties,

Jeannie T.

January Celebration!

Friday, January 1, 2021

Happy January and Happy New Year!

It's definitely a time for celebration as we let go of 2020 and look forward to something bright and shiny and new.  It's a time of celebration for sure, and also my birthday month, so believe me I always feel like it's a true fresh start for me and for the new year.

Let's face it, all of our troubles and problems don't go away, but we have to look at that glass as half full my friends, and stay strong and hopeful and always, always look towards the many beautiful things and people we have in our life.

I've been busy, so I have a few creations to share with you this month:

This was super fun for me to make and I gave it to a special friend of mine for her birthday.  Inside Message: Make the Everyday Magical

This is such an awesome stamp set, and I just love the sentiments that go with this one.  The inside sentiment says 'Focus on What Matters' and if that isn't the message of the year, I don't know what is!  There is another sentiment in the set that says 'Embrace the Moment, No Matter How Imperfect' and I love that one too.

Stampingbella/Tiny Dancers

It's all about the sentiment, and these sweet angels sum it all up perfectly, don't they?

Let's just try and make a promise to ourselves this year, and always, to just celebrate everything good that comes our way and be truly thankful for it.

(For All Challenges:) Choosing just one winner on the entries is just so very hard for me to do, but I do promise to visit each and every one of you that enters with a happy hello and a comment on your creativity.  Let this be a fun and happy place for everyone, sharing what we all truly love to do, and that's to create!

Happy January and Happy New Year!! :)
