Balloon Ride ~

Thursday, January 29, 2015

I'm using some more "too awesome to cover up" papers, with a happy message and some pretty flowers.  I embossed the base of the card underneath for some added texture.  I think it looks pretty on the inside when you open up the card too.

I just love this double sided piece of paper (thanks Riki), and the name of it too. I pulled out another Close to My Heart stamp set to make a Valentine, and a matching envelope too, all out of one piece of 12x12 paper!

Seasonally Scattered ~

Saturday, January 24, 2015

By the title of this post did you think I was referring to me?...haha!  Well I'm always kinda scattered, but it's really the name of the stamp set where this love stamp came from.  I spend way too much time on Pinterest, but I do find lots of inspiration there.  The idea for my card today came from this beauty, and this is my take on it.

Love Stamp - Stampin' Up/Seasonally Scattered
You Stamp - Paper Smooches/Sentiment Sampler Set
Other Stuff - Red and brown ink, heart nesties, burlap ribbon, sequins, pop dots, edge distresser, and white glue.

V Dub ~

Saturday, January 17, 2015

This fun car-d was made with the newest Close to My Heart Cricut cartridge called Artfully Sent.  I'm still using Valentine's Day papers from last year, and I'm pretty sure I have enough to get me through this years cards without having to get more.  Love when that happens :)

Other Stuff - Big rhinestones.

Cake Simplicity ~

Wednesday, January 14, 2015

I'm late today I know but I just couldn't get a good shot of this card this morning.  I am fortunate enough to live very close to work, I get to get some sloppy kisses from my fur-baby after I walk him, and have a quick lunch.  Today I figured I could get a better pic now that the sun is actually out.  This is a pretty simple card for me, but I'm trying to mix it up this year, and so here you have it.  I think I like it, but I'm still on the fence about it...thoughts?

Journaling Cards ~

Monday, January 12, 2015

The cards I'm sharing with you today all started with some
journaling cards given to me by my friend Jan.

They were too beautiful not to do something with, so I put together these simple and quick cards. There was enough to make 2 sets, and I'm pretty happy with how they turned out.
I am also happy that I was able to use some more vintage Stampin' Up papers that I thought matched pretty darn good, and that I combined them with this new stamp set from Close to My Heart called You Mean the World to Me that I just received...and love!

Thanks Jan, and the next time I see you of course one of these sets of cards are for YOU!!

This card came from my wonderful, wonderful Iowa friend Carol Dee!  Isn't it just the most adorable thing you've seen?  Everything on it is just perfect.  That little dragonfly there came in a box full of goodies.  Thanks soooooo much my friend, you rocked it!

I'm off to work today, but I will be celebrating with some adult beverages tonight and I'm taking Friday off for a nice long weekend.

Happy Friday-Eve!!!!!

Birds, Birds, Birds ~

Tuesday, January 6, 2015

Last month I told you about a small little shop here called The Occasional Artist that has a monthly card extravaganza.  This month the theme was birds, and I chose 3 out of the 10 available to make.  First up is what I call Prince Bird, which is my favorite.  There's lots of glittery goodness and here is a close-up below to hopefully show some of it:
I did remember to jot down the name of the stamps this time, and this handsome fella is from Stampendous, the background swirls stamp is from Magenta, and the sentiment stamp is from American Art Stamp.

Next up is this fabulous hip and trendy little guy, where we used some metallic paint and watercolored it on, which I have never done before.  This stamp is from Stampendous:

Here's a close-up of what I'm talking about:
The glittery accents were done with stickles, but the blue and green are what we watercolored on.  I will have to invest in some of these fabulous paints in the near future I think :)

Well the third card is not as grand, but sure is tweet, haha:
Well it's 10pm here in my neck of the woods, and the "chirping" of the 5:15am alarm comes around way too quickly, so off I go...
