Not your typical stars and stripes for sure, but I can explain. This is for my desk at work and my desk is pink - yes that's right, I said pink! So I plan on making one for each month for the rest of the year but the layout will have to include pink and of course a dragonfly. Something nice for me to look at anyway. This is not quite 6x6 and the scallop background is from Michael's and it's textured. I'm not sure where I got the striped paper. The stamp set that I used for the stars is from Close to my Heart, but I don't know the name of it. The ribbon is from Target and then I just added 2 orange brads. The ink for the top stars is groovy guava and the blue star is a Color Box petal point turqoisey blue.

I'm including a few pictures from my weekend in CA which I had mentioned where I picked up my dog from my ex's place. We have joint custody is what I call it. We both just luv her so much! I don't have any pictures on here today of her, but be prepared, because I'll have her for about 4 months or so. So I went with my boyfriend, his niece Traci was visiting from Texas and then my ex's girlfriend and another guy he works with joined us for the day on Saturday when we went to Hollywood and then to the Dodger game. We had a really good time. I'm including one picture of the many pictures I took of the stars which is Grace Kelly. The picture in front of the gigantic pig is with me and our niece Traci in front of an awesome restaurant called Slim Pig'ns! Great bbq!

So I've decided the them for the week will be "stars" since the 4th is Friday, so I will be posting some more Hollywood pictures this week.

Take care - Happy July - Peace and luv!!

Hi there - it's Monday morning, and boy am I tired. I went to California for the weekend to get my dog, so I'll write more about the whole weekend tonite or tomorrow, but I did want to get a post in quick. I meant to post this on Friday before I left, but I ran out of time. This is one of Joann's $1 clear stamps that I used with some of Kelly Panacci's paper set and then just used a pink scrap and some brown cardstock. I did some faux stitching around all of the papers, used some Target ribbon and a few clear rhinestones. I need to go back and get more of these stamps, they sure are cute!

Well it's a short week, I never even got any 4th of July cards done either so I need to work on a couple tonite.

I will download some Hollywood pictures for ya over the next couple of days, it sure was interesting people watching!!

Have a great Monday - Peace and Luv!

Happy Thursday! This was a fun card to make for my honey. I didn't use any stamps, but still fun. I still have some of the Pocket Full of Posies cardstock mat stack around, which I like, but I do need to get more patterned paper I think because I mostly just have solid paper. This design has a little bit of glitter in it too, which doesn't show up well. The ribbon is from Target, and the sentiment I typed out on the computer and printed right onto the cardstock. Then I used the corner rounder punch and a star punch, also a paper crimper. Then I put a little blue rhinestone in the center of the star. I even used a little tiny bit of what was left of the ribbon for the inside - never throw anything away!

I went to a co-worker's going away party last nite. It sure is hard to say good-bye to good people, isn't it? He's one of the nicest managers I've worked for, and I've worked for many. I do hope to keep in touch with him in the future. Tomorrow is his last day, and I know it won't be easy for a lot of us to see him go.

I'm at work now - shhhhh!! - and I couldn't get this post lined up well with the pictures, so I apologize for that, but I'd better get going and earn my keep! It's actually cloudy here in Phoenix and I may just see, so they tell me, my first monsoon rainstorm today. I'm looking forward to it as long as I'm not out in it at the time!

Peace and lots of l-u-v -

Hi!!!! Ok, so it's been awhile - how about 2 weeks and a day to be exact! What can I say, sometimes life just really stinks and I certainly was in no mood to make "happy" cards. I thought about closing down this site too, and even tho I don't get very many comments, the ones that I do get feel good and this is my little place to share some of my life and it keeps me busy. That being said, I could have done a better job sharing what was happening with me even thru the bad days since I know I'm not alone and that everybody has bad days. Boy did I think of some interesting cards I could have made! I pinky swear to do better with it from now on.

I'm just posting a little notecard today with a handmade crocheted flower. The blue cardstock I can't be sure of, but the front piece is Sahara Sand. The square dot stamp is from Heroarts - Patterns & Prints set. I used Color Box classic orange ink, and the ribbon is from Target. I used the round scallop punch to put behind the crocheted flower fastening it altogether with an off white brad. Then I used a little bit of what was left of the ribbon and attached them with 2 little silver brads. If you are interested in the pattern for the flower, or if you'd like to purchase one for a buck - email me at

I have red, orange, white, ecru, yellow, light and dark blue available, as seen here in the picture. They are about, but not quite an inch and a half round.

While I do have a busy week and weekend ahead of me, I do plan on posting as often as I can. I apologize for being a slacker, and if you have any questions or comments to share, I'd love to hear them.

Peace and luv, luv, luv.....

Hi there and Happy Monday. This is a background paper from the Bohemia line by My Mind's Eye. This is the Backyard My Journey Brocade/Brown reversible paper. So then I used the reverse side of the paper for the brown mat, as well as a navy blue scrap. There's some sheer ribbon as well as a velvet ribbon on top of it that I bought a while ago and hadn't used. It sure does give the card a nice richness. The stamp was $1 from Michael's, who by the way has a 50% coupon not only in the newspaper but online this week if you sign up for their email. Every little bit helps! I used Close to Cocoa ink and colored the leaf in with Old Olive.

It's nice and toasty here in AZ. I think it was about 107ish today. A good day to have some fish on the grill, a ceasar salad, some french bread and nice big glass of iced tea!

Peace and Love,
I just luv these little guys! The stamp is called Dragonfly-ing by House Mouse and when I saw it, of course I did not hesitate to get it. The tulip border is a $1 stamp from Michael's, stamped a couple of times. The ribbon is from Target. Basically, the paper is just scraps, and then I used 4 gold brads on the corners.

It's Thursday already, I went out with the gals Tuesday nite and then last nite I went to a private screening of a movie that won't be released until August called The Rocker. It was hilarious! I highly recommend it when it is out to anyone who likes that silly kind of humor and can laugh at it.

I'm going to catch the premier tonite of Swingtown. They were talking about it on the morning radio show I was listening to, and it sounds very interesting. They are supposed to really push the limit on what will be on there, so of course I gotta check it out!

Peace and Love....

I went to JoAnn's over the weekend and found a bunch of the clear stamps in their $1 area. So, so cute! This is one of them that says Just dropping you.....and then the inside says....a line. The paper is from Pocket Full of Posies that I thought totally looked like water to me. The actual card paper is Blue Bayou and the orange is from Bazzill. Then just ticket corner punched the paper and added some blue rhinestones in the corners. The raffia ribbon I thought could be like seaweed-ish or the stuff you sometimes find at the bottom of the ocean.

Did some painting over the weekend. Painted the bedroom and redid the comforter and pillows. My arm was a little tired today from it, but it turned out awesome!

Off to eat some dinner and relax a bit...have a great nite!
Peace and love -
