I found a pattern for a crocheted star and had to try it.  It reminded me of a starfish, hence the beach theme today.  They are actually easier and quicker than making flowers too!  I hope you'll be enjoying some Summer fun in your neck of the woods soon. It's a gorgeous 80 degrees here in Arizona and the pool is open!

I am going to enter this into the challenge #48 at Paper Romance, which is Summer!

This card is for Unscripted Sketches #103.  I finally broke into a Stampin' Up stamp set that I've had awhile and then tried to get it to look like a postage stamp.  I thought this layout would be an easy one, but it really challenged me.  I do like the colors though, and the little bird should make somebody happy!

I am the Earth, and the Earth is me.
Each blade of grass, each honey tree,
each bit of mud, and stick and stone,
is blood and muscle, skin and bone.

And just as I need every bit,
of me to make my body fit,
so Earth needs grass and stone and tree,
and things that grow here naturally.

That's why we celebrate this day,
that's why across this world we say;
as long as life, as dear, as free,
I am the Earth, and the Earth is me.

Get ogre it....hehe!  This is for the Hambo Hoedown distressed challenge this week, which is where this funny little guy is from.  The distressing I did is with some lite blue ink around the image and the sentiment, but unfortunately it's not showing up very well in this pic.  I was also playing around with some crochet thread and made this funky flower, so I thought it would be cheerful for someone if they were under the weather, whatcha think?

Cardstock:  Stampin' Up - Apricot Appeal.
Paper:  DCWV - Citrus Stack
Other Stuff:  Markers, and the rest besides my funky flower, is all random scraps; ribbon, flower and brad.

Other Stuff:  Nestie, ribbon from Michael's, and pop-dots.

Having coffee with friends is one of the simple things in life that I enjoy, and I'm sure you can relate as well.  This is another Broken Box Stock image called Coffee Talk, and like I talked about yesterday, I think they have some of the cutest images out there.  Certainly an image about friends and coffee wasn't about to get past me!

Cardstock:  Stampin' Up Pear Pizzazz and Soft Suede
Paper:  KI Memories
Other Stuff:  Circle nestie and some Cappuccino twine

Peace & Luv,

I found a new digital image shop......and it's pure obsessive cuteness for me!  It's called Broken Box Stock and it is where these little cuties came from.  Wanna know what else...I didn't color it!  Nope, they have some pre-colored images as well, and these eyes are getting any younger so I thought what the heck?  It seems to be happening at several digital image companies I've seen lately, and at first I felt guilty.  I might still feel just a teeny tiny bit weird about it, but I think I'm going to be ok, I really do...maybe.  I'm not going to stop coloring, but you all know that sometimes the mojo just isn't working right and this will make it a nice quick and easy alternative.  Can you tell I'm still trying to talk myself into it?  Anyway, you're going to be seeing quite a lot of them here because I just can't help myself, and the price is more than right!

Image:  Broken Box Stock - Kids Celebrating (and it's a FREEBIE)!
Cardstock:  Stampin' Up Baja Breeze (love), and white.
Paper:  Heidi Grace, double sided (thanks Jan)
Other Stuff:  Ribbon, buttons, crochet thread and pop-dots

Peace, Luv & Happy Friday-Eve!

Happy Sweet Sketch Wednesday!  Our sponsor for this week and Sketch #97 is Clear Dollar Stamps, and I'm using one of the digital images from a set called What a Pane.  I used the coffee cups from the set and paper pieced them to match the background.  I inked up all of the edges just for an extra coffee feel, just in case you weren't feelin' it.

As always, the rest of the Design Team have come up with some awesome creative inspiration for you, so be sure to check them all out and leave them some love when you do.

I'm always intrigued and amazed by how our sketches are interpreted by all of you, and I can't wait to see what you come up with.  Don't forget there's an awesome $25 Gift Certificate for the Grand Prize winner to be used in the digital section of their store, as well as the opportunity to be one of our Top 3 winners for the week.

We all know there's chocolate bunnies, but how about a chocolate penguin who just so happens to be dressed as a bunny?  Isn't he cute?!  This easel card is made for Hambo Hoedown 10 this week, and it's to make an easel card.  It's really hard to get a good pic of one, that much I know for sure.  Anyway, it was fun to make and I think my little nephew will enjoy it!

Paper:  Stampin' Up Ballet Blue and Gable Green.  The patterned paper is from KI - Color Theory collection (?), and the dark blue is from the oppositie side.
Other Stuff:  Markers, ribbon, buttons, fiskars paper edger scissor.

Peace & Luv,

This beauty wasn't made by me but was one of the cards from our most recent card swaps.  Yesterday we had a Swap & Technique learning day at my place and we learned how to make this beautiful flower.
Here are some of the busy little hands making all sorts of different combinations of tissue paper and ink.  Basically, it's 6 layers of colored tissue paper cut out with a scallop punch.  You staple it in the middle with a cardstock layer underneath to stabilize it.  Then you scrunch up each layer of tissue paper.  You then can use an ink pad to color the edges, and also some Stickles for some sparkle.  Thanks so much Luping for showing us this technique and for the awesome wonton soup!

We had lots of laughs and food and fun and it was a very full and busy day.  You all amaze me with your craftiness, thoughtfulness and kindness!

Peace & Luv,
This is the card that I made for our card swap this past week.  It's a layout that I've used before, but liked it enough to use it again.  I used another one of my favorite color combos; blue and purple.  When making 10 (or more) or the same cards, once you get an assembly line going, it doesn't take too long really.  I think this one will be going to my boss for her birthday, now to figure out a gift?!

Stamps:  CTMH Piece of Cake
Paper:  Stampin' Up - Tempting Turquoise and Perfect Plum.  Random lite blue cardstock, and  the striped paper is from DCWV's Summer Dream stack.
Other stuff:  Cuttlebug musical notes embossing folder, markers, fiskars zig zag scissor and large scallop scissor, ribbon, and a rhinestone.

Peace & Luv,

I meant to post this last nite, but I forgot, sorry about that!  Anyway, I'm using the April Sketch at I heart to stamp and I used it to make a boy card.  It kinda looked manly to me right away when I saw it, not sure why, but I went with it.  I think Bob will be pleased anyway.

Stamp:  Stampin' Up Linen background (on the solid green)
Paper:  Stampin' Up Night of Navy and Old Olive.  The patterned paper is from the CTMH Lucky set.
Other Stuff:  CTMH brads, Label Nestie, crimper, crochet thread.

Peace & Luv,

Happy Sweet Sketch Wednesday!  Can you believe we're at Sketch #96 already?  We're anxiously counting down to our 100th Sketch, and there will be some really fun things happening for that, so you won't want to miss it!

Our sponsor this week is Digi Stamp Characters, and the prize is 3 digital images of your choice.  I love the Spring feel of this little gal, and how she's wearing striped shorts with a heart pattern top!

There are many sweet images made by Heather, and the rest of the Design Team have created some spectacular things with these images.  Be sure to check them all out and leave them some love as well.
